Ludicrous exploits includes write ups of runs, rides, climbs, outings and projects and a host of other things. I'm currently using it to recreate Mallory's jumper, organise a cycling 'classic' and reclaim my street from 'The Man' but don't let that put you off.

ohh......nice. The derailleur may well be a retro-fit although upon investigation it does look to be quiet an early version, perhaps 1953. Certainly not later than 1955 going by the images in the catalogues:

Thanks for the catalogue link Matt. Looks like you are right about the mechs. The 1955 Catalogue doesn't feature the Gran Sport. Still having problems with the frame number. The earliest number I can find on the web is 8153 (1947). Mine is 6497.
